Maybe spring is coming. Today it seemed like it was coming since the sun was out. But a few days ago it was snow/hailing. So, I am not holding my breath quite yet. At least it is not raining all the time.
The buds are forming and the little shoots are emerging. I just love spring. I never even thought I could love it more but having kids locked up all winter and having a baby that does (well, did) not tolerate the cold and wind all that well, I think I love it more!
My little man is getting so big! He no longer fits into his going home outfit snuggly thing. It is just too short on him.
Up until a day ago, any time we went out with Corbin, he would tense up and start bubbling at the mouth. I have come to realize that it was the wind that was causing such a reaction. Or maybe he is just getting older and outgrowing it. Any way it is cut, he is doing so much better outside.
This is Corbin's first go on the swing. He was pretty unimpressed with it. Izzy on the other hand is going crazy with the superman swing. Friends of ours taught her this move and she just loves it.
With Corbin's three month birthday approaching, I was brainstorming ideas on this month. Well, I took a bunch of photos of my guy on the driveway and decided they were not giving me the SPLASH I was looking for. Corbin must have been reading my mind! LOL
With the warmer weather, comes the arrival of the mower. Hours upon hours will be spend (not by me) cutting the grass this summer. It is such a huge amount of grass. Scott just loves giving the kids rides on the non-cutting mower. Last year Devon wanted nothing to do with the mower. Well, he just wanted to run behind it. I guess that has not changed. But this year, he was happily sitting on dad's lap and riding around.
It was Izzy this year that just was not a happy little lady on the machine.
They both were happy to watch from behind the fence at the mower moving in circles cutting the thick green grass.
*CRAZY HAIR: Yep, they both have it.
(Devon the Menace)
*Art time on a rainy morning
(Yes, Izzy was not wearing a shirt)
*Enjoying the sun and tiny amount of warmth
I love having a girl! LOVE IT!
*Family portrait attempt
Not too bad!
*Non-swaddled, non-ocean waves, non-cribbed, in a noise filled kitchen sleeping baby
*Corbin is THREE MONTHS OLD
Corbin is doing so well. He is sleeping great and smiling all the time. Both of the older kids are interacting with him a bit more. Constantly wanting to say hi to him during meal times. But, that might just be to get out of their seat? Izzy is cracking us up lately. Her current cuteness is being afraid of monsters. Monster that are cats. Whenever Pixel walks into the room, she gets really quiet and then will say "monster...scared" all the while holding up her hands close to her chest. Devon has a new cousin he found in the basement. Our old blue couch. Devon named him Alvin. Alvin and Devon like to jump, do puzzles and sleep together. He loves his cousin!
Have a great day!

Randomness
Spring is testing the waters over here. The sun is sneaking out from behind the rain from time to time. However, the temperature is not really following the same cues. Burrrr, I actually saw snow falling from the sky yesterday.
Flowers are poking their fluffy little heads out of the trees and the daffodils along the roadside are in full bloom right now. I never give it much thought, but out here in the country, people do now have complete control over their entire yard. Most of the time there is the small area between the road and gully (I can't think of that word right now...but it is where you would go if there was a tornado in the midwest if you were on the roadside) there are these luscious clumps of daffodils that pop up every spring. It is like a trumpet announcing the dream of better weather. Dream is the key word.
We have been able to go outside as of late. Sometimes just for a few minutes and then the rain comes and other times for hours. We try to work it between Corbin napping and then we hang out on the driveway. I know, 10 acres and we choose to spend it on concrete. But we love our driveway!!!! Or we spend it right by the house so we can hear the Corbster if he yelps. I never have called Corbin "The Corbster" LOL
We play soccer.
Or we go down to the barn.
We hang out on the fire hoses that I am sure everyone has stored in the barn!
Down by the barn is this really huge rock. I love this rock. The kids can sit on it and it is really cool! If only it was a smidge lighter I might move it to a better spot. But, it is just lovely where it is.
Admittedly, not the two best pictures of the kids, but the rock is so awesome!
Down by the bar is also this really large 55 gallon rusty drum. I think the previous owners used it as a burn bin. So far it just sits there and gets rusty for us. Wait, we burned something in it one time a while ago... Go us!
Corbin is getting bigger and bigger every day. This whole transition of time is really trippy. The most growth a human will have is in the first few months of their lives. But, as a mom who is exhausted it is really hard to appreciate it. I miss how small he was when he was born. But I just can't seem to even notice how different he is right now. I guess this is just part of life. The newborn phase I think has passed. He is now officially a baby. weep weep! He no longer gives me a little whimper anymore. I don't know exactly when it stopped, but it has.
With is growth come so many magical and wonderful moments. He smiles now. He see me. He and I are in sync. I love it! It is just so wonderful being his mom! I really just love every aspect of motherhood for the third time. It is quite amazing. A part of me thought that with baby #3 it might just be too much work. While it is overwhelming sometimes, it is almost always really cool.
Seeing him accomplish the small little things really just makes me smile. Taking the time to just enjoy him right now is just so satisfying. Seeing him raise his little head to look around gives me pure delight.
For the record, I don't think my baby is going to have brown eyes...
Hopefully you all enjoyed this lovely day! Well, lovely in the PNW.

Capturing Three Kids
I never fully appreciated the level of difficulty of photographing three kids at the same time in one picture. One kid is really easy and will stay there for me looking absolutely adorable. However he is a bit fussy at times. Another kid is fast to roll away or jump out of the frame and then cackle like a crazy man. And finally the last child will play follow the leader every single time. So, most of my pictures that document I truly have three kids are spastic and blurry and really bad.
Case in point:
It got a bit better? But no one is looking good.
Then the roll away happened...
Ahhh, again no dice! I guess I will just try to get something interesting.
Izzy, stop tackling your brother!
Maybe, next time. In the mean time I will just capture the "good" child!
