Her sweetness is just overflowing. While she is tough as nails on the outside, she has such a tender spirit. She still to this day will hear Corbin cry and will get a concerned look on her face. She just recently received a baby doll (creepy blinky eyes and all) for her birthday that will cry. When she hears this she instantly will say "Happy!" and try to make this little baby happy with a hug. I love seeing that tenderness. It is a nice "ying" to her hellion "yang".
The other day after her nap, when I entered her room, this is what I found...
She was so dang proud of herself. And, I was quite proud that she was able to put on the sock gloves all by herself. But then that sweetness was transformed into something a bit more aggressive....like wrestle-mania!
It starts off like a hug.
But ends with a pile of laughing kids who keep saying "Again! Again! Again!"
I just love that they really love the snot out of each other. During Izzy's nap, if Devon gets bored, he will say "I think I hear Izzy. I need to go get her. She needs me mommy!" I just love that! I bet it has nothing to do with him wanting milk or a snack or to go outside...but I just don't care. IT is so dang cute.
Corbin is progressing so well. The sweet giggle that only a baby can make is emerging from him these days. Baby giggles are the best. They are so pure and so real and so lovely to hear. They are like a badge of honor for a mom that says, I did not mess him up too badly...yet!
He is also sleeping so wonderfully. Some days he will sleep until 4:30am and be up at 7:30 to play.
While that sounds horrible and just awful, it is not all that bad. I remember with Izzy that at 4 months it was horrible. She was such a tough kid at that age. She never went down easy and she cried all the time. At 4 months old she was up 5 times at night. So, with Corbin, one or two night wakings is fine by me. Actually, the part that makes is so easy is that he goes down to sleep really nicely.
Seriously, why is a sleeping baby so lovely?
On a personal note, my foot is feeling so much better after seeing my foot guy. After getting a steroid shot in the arch of my foot (nice visual, I know) I am almost pain free now. Which lead me to a lovely spring morning walk on a challenging trail with my friend Andi. Some people say friend, others might say Grandma! LOL It made the steep hills easy to be with someone who took my mind off of the hard work. Oh, and she pushed the stroller a lot.
I really love where I live!
Spring I really think might be on its way! For real this time. I mean we have blooms on the trees and a forecast that does not say 38 degrees. I am elated!
My very special peony that has stayed alive despite no water for two years.
Cheery Cherry blossoms
Pear buds just waiting to explode
Apple blossoms swinging in the cool evening
Mystery meat? I really have no clue what the heck this is? I do know that it is crazy and really close to the air conditioner outside.
Everything is a "disc" at our house! Even big circles of sheet insulation.
Izzy is really pure joy!
And Corbin is just taking it all in. As one of my favorite parenting books says...Trees make the best mobiles. I could not agree more. And apparently Corbin agrees.
Have a great day!
