One month old

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

I really can not believe it has been a month so soon. Cliche, I know? It is really amazing to see just in one month how much this little guy has sprouted. The first month of life so much happens, so much changes and so much grows.

And how much more love is going around our house!

And just for fun, here is a comparison of one month shots for all the kids

Happy due date!

Corbin's original due date to arrive here was today, February 7th, 2011.

The entire pregnancy I knew I was not going to hit this magical date...not even come close. So what else can I do but celebrate it's arrival. I feel like since he was early he has been given a visa to earth a bit early. Four extra precious weeks full term babies just don't get. While his first week started off rocky, things are starting to groove now.

He is napping like a rockstar during the day. He is feeding and gaining weight wonderfully. He is having more and more alert and awake times. The only time that is in question right now in nighttime. We are working out what exactly is the deallio. Maybe a dairy sensitivity? Maybe I just need to learn how to burp? Maybe it was just a weird fluke? But it is minor. So tonight instead of eating a rich and gooey peiceof heaven to celebrate this milestone, we will have a banana instead...maybe two.

These little cheeks are so adorable!  And they are so tiny they just fit in your hand.  However, you really don't want to keep your hand in that "area" for too long...

I swear I am going to stop forcing this hat on his head.  But I really want a cute newborn photo with it but I fear I have passed my window.

Things are going really well here in our little world. Both older kids are really understanding Corbin more and more everyday. Devon is really respectful of Corbin's personal space. Isabelle on the other hand os not. She just needs to be in on the action at all times. Breastfeeding is sometime comical when all she wants to do is give Corbin a kiss while he is nursing. She has also become very sensitive to his cries. She will hear a wail, get a sad look on her face and yell "HAPPY!" As almost to will him to be happy. She just loves the baby. This is yet again another reason never to try to predict what the future will bring with regards to your kids. I was so worried before he was born that Izzy would be the jealous one and Devon would be the lover. Well, both premonitions were wrong.

For some reason I love this photo.  With the tiny head of Corbin sort of in the photo...Call me crazy!

On the feeding front...little Corbin took a bottle. I feel bad that I did not want to feed my little guy a bottle while Grandma was here. (Sorry mom!)  I did not want to mess with breast feeding at that point. But, after he graduated the two week mark, we bottled up the liquid gold and fed it to him. And, he drank it down like a champ! Woot! Woot!

One of the most fun things we did this week was drawing with window crayons. WOW! This entertained the troops for 45 minutes and would have gone longer if lunch was not ready. Even Isabelle excelled at coloring (only ate one part of one crayon).

Well, not too much has been happening here at the haus. We have been sort of laying low until this magical date.  Somehow that just seemed right.  Not to mention that we had a load of work that came 12 days ago.  Now that the work has been completed, I think tomorrow will be our first excursion out and about.  But no promises...
